Appointments

Who do I see?

Routine appointments

For a routine appointment, please call after 8.30am.

Our lines are busy early in the day, so unless you need same day help, you may find it easier to call later in the day.

Please call 01983 758998 for appointments, use our eConsult service, or come in to speak to one of our Patient Advisors at the Reception desk.

You will be asked several questions by our Patient Advisors in order to allocate your query to the correct member of our team.

No matter how you contact us, we might offer you a consultation:

  • By phone or
  • Face to face at the surgery

If you need help when we are closed:

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Chaperones

You have the right to request a chaperone during your consultation or procedure at the surgery. This could be a nurse, healthcare assistant, or another suitable member of staff, with your agreement. If you’re unsure about having a chaperone, please contact the surgery to discuss this before your appointment.

Extended Access

Patients registered at Brookside Health Centre (Wight Primary Partnerships ltd) are able to access a range of appointments with GPs, ANPs, Healthcare Assistants and other clinicians, on selected weekday evenings and weekends.  To book one of these appointments please speak to one of our Patient Advisors.

Home Visits

The practice can arrange home visits for patients who are too sick or frail to come in. If you think you need a home visit, please call us as early as possible (before 10:00 AM) in order to be triaged. This helps plan around other appointments, as it’s harder to arrange visits later in the day. When you request a home visit, we’ll ask for some important information.

The practice can only provide home visits for patients who are unable to leave their home, and this decision will be made by the triaging doctor on the day.
